2018 Christmas Letter
It’s been an exciting year and a half for me, and I wanted to share a few
updates with you. In the summer of 2017, I got engaged. Then, in October of
that same year, I married my amazing wife MaryAnn. MaryAnn is a math teacher at
South Davis Junior High. She also teaches violin lessons. I consider myself
very fortunate to have found such an amazing wife.
As you can tell, it’s been a great year for me. I hope it’s been a great year for you too, and I hope that this next year will be even better for you. A quick word about the stock market and the economy - it’s been a rough year in the stock market. Interest rates have been going up, but the stock market has been up and down. It’s normal for the market to see some fluctuations from time to time. Historically, the stock market has done very well over long periods of time. It’s impossible to say exactly what the economy will do in the coming months and years, but for people who are looking for a safe way to earn higher interest rates, without having to worry about the volatility of the stock market, we have some great option. I have clients earning more than $100/ month in interest. I hope all my clients know that their money is safe. No matter what the market does, or has done, these types of accounts won’t lost a penny. This type of account may not work well for everyone, but I love that it provides a different kind of option for people that is safe, and can still grow nicely. It is nice to know that the money you set aside for retirement will still be there, even if things get a little crazy in the next year or so. My wife owned a condo in Bountiful, so when we got married, I moved. In January
we learned that we were expecting a baby. Our son was supposed to arrive
sometime in September, but he just couldn’t wait, so at the end of August, we
welcomed Parley to the world. Everything about him has been truly amazing to
me, from the first time I saw his tiny heart beating to the way he giggles at
me when I make a funny sound. We are truly blessed to have him in our
lives.
In order to provide my clients more options, I’ve teamed up with the Michael Berg Insurance/Insurance Matters. Michael Berg and I share office space in Centerville. A few months ago, our landlord told us that they were selling a piece of property about 5 ½ acres in size. The property just happened to be where our office was located, so we had to move.
